Women’s Health & Hormonal Imbalances
What are hormones?
Hormones are chemicals that coordinate and regulate most major bodily processes such as digestion, the nervous system, menstruation and so on. So, an imbalance in hormones means many bodily functions can be impacted.
So, common symptoms indicating a hormonal imbalance could include:
- Irregular periods, painful or heavy bleeding etc
- Acne, excessive skin growth
- Fluctuations in weight with unexplained weight gain or loss
- Low sex drive
- Mood swings and energy fluctuations
What can cause a hormonal imbalance?
Many factors can cause the hormones to fall out of balance and go a bit whack. This can include stress, diet, medications, as well as genetics linked to medical conditions (e.g. PCOS, diabetes, etc.).
Keep your eyes peeled as over the next month or two we are going to dive a bit deeper into all things Women’s health & hormonal imbalances.
