Anxiety

An emotion experienced by most of us at some point in our lives, anxiety is often perceived as a negative force that causes distress. However, it is a complex emotion with a dual nature. While it indeed can be debilitating and harmful, it can also be a catalyst for personal growth, heightened awareness, and improved performance.

When anxiety becomes excessive or chronic, it can significantly impact our well-being.

Prolonged anxiety can produce feelings of:

  • Restlessness
  • Irritability
  • Difficulty concentrating affecting our ability to function in daily life.

It can also manifest physically through symptoms such as:

  • Palpitations
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Digestive issues

Constant worry and fear may also restrict us from taking risks, pursuing opportunities and living life to the fullest.

On the other hand, anxiety can serve as a powerful motivator and facilitate personal growth. Anxiety often arises when we face a challenge or unfamiliar situation. The discomfort can motivate us to learn coping and problem-solving mechanisms and develop resilience. It can push us to reach out to others and cultivate a support system. By embracing and managing anxiety, we can harness its energy to encourage personal development and positive change.

Our goal in the clinic is to reduce and prevent excessive anxiety, especially if it is debilitating in daily life. Between treatments, things to incorporate into your schedule to are:

  • Movement: a dance, walk, cycle, stretch or shake
  • Nutrition: dark leafy greens, bone broths, soups, warm water
  • Reducing the fun things: coffee, sugar, breads/pasta

We encourage you to reach out and book an appointment with one of our practitioners if you’d like to know more about our approach!
